Kilka uwag dotyczących konsekwencji naruszenia praw własności intelektualnej w znowelizowanej ustawie o szkolnictwie wyższym

Abstrakt

Intellectual property rights currently play a very important role in educationalinstitutions. The rules on managing and commercializing intellectual propertycreated by scientists, PhD candidates and students, as well as rules governingdisciplinary responsibility (besides civil and criminal liability) in the case ofinfringement of intellectual property rights, were already present in the Act of 27July 2005 on Higher Education. Recent amendments of that act (enacted in 2011 and2014) introduce significant changes in this field. More emphasis has been placed oncombating the illegal use of copyright works in degree theses. This is to be achievedby obligatory proof checking of each paper with anti-plagiarism software andestablishing a national database (repository) of degree theses.
